Christopher R. Wangard, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Chris Wangard grew up in Springfield, Illinois. He attended high school at Ursuline Academy in Springfield. His undergraduate college years were spent at Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois, where he graduated magna cum laude and was named a Lincoln Academy Laureate. He continued his education at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he was introduced to his love of pediatrics. He completed his pediatric residency training at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Wangard joined Drs. Bard and Didriksen in 2000, becoming the third physician at Bard and Didriksen Pediatrics.
Dr. Wangard recently became a preceptor for the Community Outreach Pediatric Education Program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. As a part of this program, Dr. Wangard provides a pediatric resident with the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working with a community pediatrician.
Dr. Wangard is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has served as Chairman for the American Lung Association Asthma Walk. His current hospital affiliations include Anderson Hospital, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He has been board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Wangard also enjoys participating in county politics. He is currently a member of the Madison County Board, and he serves as a member on the Health Department Committee.
Dr. Wangard shares his spare time with his wife and three daughters.
